As human beings, we always have a tendency to want to have money, make lots of money, and get more money!
But let’s face it, money is not everything! I am not saying that we do not need money. We do need money. Having enough money allow us to cover our expenses, makes it easier to buy the things we need, and it is always nice to have a little extra to buy some of the things we want.
The main thing that we must keep in mind is that we should never go against our ethics and our values in how we obtain our money. As a business professional or business owner you are the person representing the business, and the one that others deal with. Remember that what you say, do, and how you act will always follow you. Who you do business with also matters. Others will sooner or later hear about it and you will not be able to take it back or hide it.
I’d like to leave you with my March 4 quote from ”The Woman’s Advantage” 2014 Shared Wisdom Calendar: ‘Better to walk away from an unethical client than to have your integrity questioned.’
Abundant Talent Connector
How many times have you started to do something and realized that there was too much on your plate already?
I am not sure if it’s pride, the “super-woman” syndrome, or thinking that we can do everything and take care of everyone. But the realization is that we deplete ourselves and then there is nothing that we can do for anyone, including ourselves.
We must come to the realization that others are willing to help. We only need to reach out and ask. You will feel better and you will give others the satisfaction of being able to help you out.
Take the time to go over your “to do list.” Break it down in three sections:
And embrace the reality of what you can’t, or, shouldn’t do, and let it go.
Now you can actually accomplish what matters. You will feel more relaxed, will enjoy the time that you spend with your loved ones without worrying about what you have to do, and actually end up having time for yourself.
Face it, you are not expected to do it all, and if someone says they expect you to, they don’t care about your sanity!
Now go and do something that you want to do!
Think how great you feel when you receive a nice note. We live in a fast paced, techno savvy age. Not everyone remembers how nice it was to receive a handwritten note in the mail. It is still such a welcoming way of staying connected and reminding others about you.
Especially in business, you will be making an extra effort with your handwritten note.
You will stand out from others that think an email is the way to stay connected with prospects, clients, and friends.
Did you attend a great networking meeting and made a new connection? Send them a “So nice to meet you” note. Did you have your first appointment with a prospect? Send them a “Looking forward to meeting with you” note. Did you make a sale? Send them a Thank-you note.
Don’t write the same thing in your notes. Take the time to customize the message, make it personal. People will appreciate it and remember you.
Don’t forget to include your business card! Put in two cards, that way the customer will be able to give one away as they are recommending you to one of their connections!
Do continue to be thoughtful and do send special e-mails, along with e-cards, there is nothing wrong with showing you care. That extra touch of the handwritten note will make you stand out and will be beneficial for you and your business.
